NoPa: Where the Panhandle Meets Divisadero's Restaurant Row

The North of Panhandle (NoPa) neighborhood in San Francisco is a vibrant and eclectic area known for its diverse cultural offerings and relaxed atmosphere. Located just north of the iconic Panhandle park, NoPa has a distinct charm with a mix of historic Victorian and Edwardian homes and modern amenities. NoPa's weekly farmers market is held every Sunday at the DMV parking lot on Broderick St, between Oak & Fell St. 

It is one of the neighborhoods that best captures what San Francisco living looks like right now: a mix of beautifully preserved Victorian and Edwardian flats, a genuinely excellent restaurant scene, and a slower, more residential feel than its next-door neighbor Hayes Valley, even though it's every bit as central.

The Panhandle itself — the narrow, mile-long strip of Golden Gate Park that runs along Fell and Oak Streets — is the neighborhood's backbone. It's where people run, walk dogs, bike to work along the protected bike lanes, and gather for weekend picnics under some of the oldest trees in the city. Divisadero Street is the commercial spine of the neighborhood, and it has become one of the most talked-about restaurant corridors in the city — the kind of street where you can get a reservation-only tasting menu and a taqueria burrito within the same block. It's also, notably, the street where Lisa's own office is located, which means this is a neighborhood she knows from her own daily walk to work, not just from listing sheets.
